ARTHUR DESMOND BELLAMY

BELLAMY  – On 23rd May, 2021. ARTHUR DESMOND age 93, passed away peacefully at his home, Bay Mansion, Bay Street, St. Michael. He will be dearly missed by his cousins John Skinner, Sister Rosemary Clare, Juliet Skinner, Sarah Clarke and their families, and many close friends. A private cremation and thanksgiving service will take place at a later date.


RODNEY CROUCH

CROUCH – On 22nd May 2021. RODNEY of Fairview Heights, St. George. Beloved husband of Mary. Father of Sarah Davis (UK). Grandfather of Arya (UK). Father-in-law of Andrew Davis (UK). Friend of Sandra and Joel Smith. A private cremation will take place at a later date.

 

DONNA YVONNE FENTY

FENTY – On 10th May, 2021. DONNA YVONNE of Appleby Gardens, St. James. Daughter of Cedric Lampitt and the late Agda. Mother of Crystal Gill and Clint Fenty. Grandmother of Gabrielle, Nathan and Luke. Sister of Angela Favell (USA), Rosemary Bourne and the late Diane Brathwaite. A private grave side service and interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Gardens, St. Peter.

JOYCE LADY STRAKER

Joyce Lady Straker, 79, of The Hope, St. David’s, Christ Church, Barbados, passed away peacefully on May 16th, 2021 surrounded by family at her home.  She was born to Stanley Lancelot Johnson and Gladys Lady Hoyos.  She married her husband, Sir Emile Straker in November 1961 whom she leaves behind after nearly 60 years of marriage.

Lady Straker was preceded in death by brothers Mark and Ralph “Bruggadung” Johnson.  She is survived by siblings Dianne Brimo, Rosemary Smith, Paul Johnson, Heather Peel and Kay Hickey.

In addition to her loving husband, she leaves behind to mourn her children, Dean Straker, Ray Straker, Stacey-Jane Choat, her ten grandchildren, her one great grandchild and many friends and family.

Lady Straker was a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur, having owned and operated the Lady Jane’s Boutique, the Banana Boat Restaurant, and the Plantation Tropical Spectacular Dinner Theatre.  Lady Straker was also the first female pilot of Barbados.

Due to Covid restrictions, her life will be celebrated at a private gathering to be held at The Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 at 3pm.  Attendance is by invitation only.   To join in her memorial service virtually, the family invites you to visit via live stream  https://youtu.be/7LS_tjkhFKY

Flowers may be delivered to Bryan’s Funeral Home, Belmont Road, St. Michael not later than 12:00pm on Tuesday.

Government health protocols of social distancing and the wearing of masks will be in effect.

JANICE ROSELIND SMALL

SMALL – JANICE ROSALIND, aged 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 6th, 2021, at the QEH in Barbados. Born November 23rd, 1943 in Barbados, to Lisle and Marjorie King (both deceased). Janice worked at Cottle Catford & Co. for 32 years as a legal Secretary and enjoyed life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting and spending time with friends and family, travelling to see her granddaughter, reading, garage sales, and her love for animals.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Erick Wallbom (Michigan) and second husband Nathan Small. Survived by her children, Todd Wallbom (California) and Tina Guershon (Texas); daughter-in-law  Agnes Wallbom (California); granddaughter, Chloe Wallbom (California); sister Brenda Johnson and brother Geoffrey King; aunt of Phyllis Skinner and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service for family and friends will be determined at a later date.

STEPHANIE VERONICA GITTENS

GITTENS – On 23rd April, 2021. STEPHANIE VERONICA of #25 Field Place, Bayville, St. Michael. General Worker of N.C.C. Daughter of Leila Gittens and the late Oscar Rice. Mother of Keisha, Kayann and the late Shane Gittens. Sister of Sylvan, Victor, Hilton, Wayne, Margo, Celeste, Juel, Cheryl and Anderson. Grandmother of Sharina, Omario, Keion and Emmanuel. Aunt, cousin and friend of many. Relative of the Gittens and Clarke families. The funeral leaves BRYAN’S FUNERAL HOME, Belmont Road, St. Michael on Wednesday, 19th May, 2021 for Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00p.m. for a graveside service and interment. Visitation of the late STEPHANIE VERONICA GITTENS takes place in the Michael Bryan Memorial Chapel, Bryan’s Funeral Home, Belmont Road, St. Michael, from 3-5pm on Tuesday, 18th May, 2021. Flowers may be sent to BRYAN’S FUNERAL HOME Belmont Road, St. Michael, not later than 12:00p.m. on Wednesday.
