  2. Although I only knew Jonathan through our shared passion for sailing, he was so friendly and kind, I know he is missed by his family as well as many friends in sailing.
I am thankful for the on time I was able to sail with him to Grenada.

  3. Scott and Kimmie, Your dad loved you both and was so proud of you. To us he was a generous and kind friend and lives forever in the stories we will tell each other as we remember him. All our love.

  7. My heart aches and goes out to all of the Gittens family. Take all the time you need and be gentle with yourselves.
Though this is tremendously difficult to process, I can easily reflect on how grateful I am to have had Jon in my life. I have loads of great memories from childhood through adulthood with Jon and family. The passion Jon had for life (and sea) was something I often admired and looked up to.
Dear Kimmy and Scott, it was so easy to see how proud your dad was of you both. You were his world. Remember the incredible life he led and how much he loved you.
We are here for you. With all our love, always. He will be truly missed.
