CHANDLER – On 23rd February, 2019. Dr. FRANCES LOUISE, OBE, CBE, former Senator of Barbados 2003-2013. Daughter of the late John and Maureen Roach. Sister of Paddy Roach (Anne) and Wendy Hoad (Richard). Aunt of Gary and Doug (Sue), Stephanie (Aldric), Kristine and Donna. Great aunt of 6. Sister-in-law of Elaine Roach. Relative of the Burke family. Friend of many. A service of thanksgiving for the life of Frances Louise Chandler takes place on Thursday, 7th March, 2019 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Maxwell, Christ Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 3:00 pm. A private interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barbados Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated.
So sad to hear of the loss of a such a patriotic, honest and independent minded scientist. I met Frances when at UWI, St Augustine in 1966 and recall her performing at the ceremonial raising of the Barbados flag on 30 November. In later years we met when she was working with CARDI. Her opinions on important issues will be sorely missed.

You were always so supportive of me and my work right up until the end. You will always be my angel, as we now share my birthday as the day you transitioned.
