I came across this death notice by accident, whilst browsing the Internet. My late father Jim taught Hamish to play piano as a boy and had the highest regard for Hamish and his mother. I learned Mrs McLurg was staying in Burghead in her later years and visited her there on one occasion, basically as I felt it was something my father would have expected of me. She was a lovely lady. I actually recall meeting you, Phyllis, many years ago when you accompanied Hamish to visit my parents in Manse Road, Nairn. I don’t actually remember Hamish but I do clearly remember how highly he and his mother were regarded by my father. Hamish clearly had a long and good innings. My belated condolences.
Sandy McMorran age 74.

Hamish loved his golf and would always be telling me of this stroke and that. Every Friday he would always pass by our house for a few wee drams. The mcclurgs new years day get together were what we always looked forward to. He will be badly missed
